What is actually in it
It is written for people who do not have time to follow local news and would still rather not be the last to hear something.
Shabbos times come first: candle lighting, havdalah and the parsha, calculated for Cedarhurst. You should not have to scroll for the thing you opened the email to check.
Then the news, in the order it matters. Village board votes, school district decisions, road work, LIRR changes, and whatever opened or closed on Central Avenue.
Then what is coming, which usually means the meetings worth showing up to and the hearings that still have public comment open.
Some weeks there is a longer piece at the end. Most weeks there is not, and we would rather send you a short email than pad one out.

How much does it cost? Nothing. Local advertising and newsletter sponsorships pay for it, and every sponsored item is labeled as sponsored.
Which towns? Lawrence, Cedarhurst, Woodmere, Hewlett and Inwood. North Woodmere, Atlantic Beach, Far Rockaway and West Hempstead when the news crosses over.
