Assemblyman Brown urges residents to report crimes after Cedarhurst gas station incident

Brown says a station attendant was arrested after several young girls were allegedly harassed and inappropriately touched, and that the worker had returned to work before he was told.

Assemblyman Ari Brown said in a message published by 5 Towns Central that he was told early on October 5 about an incident involving several young Orthodox girls who were allegedly subjected to verbal sexual harassment and inappropriate physical touching by an attendant at the Bolla Market/Exxon station in Cedarhurst. He said police responded and the individual was arrested. He thanked local police leadership and the officers involved.

Brown wrote that he later learned the employee had returned to work. He said he spoke with the owner of Bolla Market, who told him he had been unaware of the incident and assured him the employee would be terminated. The message does not say when the employee was charged or what the charges are.

Beyond the case itself, Brown urged parents to know where their children are, especially late at night, and urged residents who are victims of harassment, threats, vandalism or other crimes to call the police, cooperate with investigators and follow through on prosecution.

What we could not confirm

The source does not give the arrested person's name, the specific charges, the court status, or the date the incidents occurred. It does not say whether the business has confirmed the termination publicly, or how many girls were involved.
