Hewlett-Woodmere holds graduation and moving up ceremonies for Class of 2026
District schools marked student milestones from June 23 through June 25 at five ceremonies.
The Hewlett-Woodmere Public Schools celebrated its graduates and moving up students at all five schools from June 23 through June 25, the district said. First graders at Franklin Early Childhood Center took part in the annual Moving Up Ceremony, where the Turning of the Caps showed whether they will attend Hewlett Elementary or Ogden Elementary in second grade.
Both elementary schools honored fifth graders moving on to Woodmere Middle School, with music and student reflections. Woodmere Middle School then recognized its eighth graders as incoming freshmen at G.W. Hewlett High School, including student speakers, performances, and a thank you to retiring staff. Commencement at the high school closed the series as seniors crossed the stage for diplomas with family, friends, and faculty on hand.
The district congratulated the Class of 2026 and extended best wishes for the next step.
