Valley Stream man charged in Jildor Shoes safe burglary

Nassau police say a safe containing cash was taken from the Central Avenue store in late June.

Nassau County's Major Case Squad arrested a 54-year-old Valley Stream man on Tuesday evening in connection with a burglary at Jildor Shoes in Cedarhurst, according to 5 Towns Central. The store, at 473 Central Avenue, had a safe containing cash removed by an unknown person on June 25, detectives said.

Following what police described as an extensive investigation, the man was located and taken into custody without incident. He is charged with third degree burglary and was set to be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
