Liberty Water to replace aging mains in Cedarhurst

Work starts the week of June 29, 2026, on several streets.

Liberty Water will begin replacing aging water mains in Cedarhurst the week of June 29, 2026, weather permitting, the village announced. The work will cover segments of Atlantic Avenue, Centre Street, Fair Oak Place, Oak Avenue, Oak Court, Villa Place and Summit Avenue.

The project will proceed in four phases: installing the new main, testing and sampling the water, transferring service connections, and restoring the roadway. During construction, residents may face temporary detours, lane restrictions and occasional road closures. If a planned water shutdown is required, Liberty Water will leave door hanger notices at affected properties at least 24 hours in advance.

What we could not confirm

The village did not say how long the project will take or what it will cost.
