Hundreds run for Israel at North Woodmere Park
Annual 5K raised support for IDF soldiers and displaced Israelis through the Israel Chesed Center.
Runners of various ages took part in the annual Israel Chesed Center/Five Towns 5K's Run for Israel at North Woodmere Park on June 7, according to the Nassau Herald. The race raises money for the Israel Chesed Center, which sends gear and supplies to IDF soldiers, displaced persons, and medical volunteers in Israel.
Leiba Rimler won first place among women with a time of 22:14, and Dov Sternberg took first place among men at 18:24. In the youth divisions, JJ Aron, 14, placed first among girls and Yosef Frishman, 14, placed first among boys. Aryeh Schachter, 14, took second among boys, and N. Colman, 11, placed third.
The Israel Chesed Center was co-founded by Marc Moshe Bodner and Jeff Eisenberg after the Hamas attacks on Israel on Oct. 7, 2023.
